Influence of self-Resilience, job steress and Social Support on the Burnout of physical Therapists

Abstract
Background : The purpose of this study is to investigate physical therapists¡¯ burn out, elf-resilience, job stress and social support on the relationship.

Methods : To achieve the purpose, this study conducted a questionnaire survey with 759 physical therapists working at hospitals in Seoul and Gyeonggido. The questionn aire survey was employed to examine self-resilience, burnout, job stress, and social support. For statistical analysis, SPSS 18.0 were used.

Results : First, how physical therapists¡¯ self-resilience, burnout, job stress, and social support change differently depending on demographic, social and economic variables was analyzed. As a result, regarding gender, self-resilience was found significantly higher in men, and burnout in women; regarding age, the older the study subjects were, the more self-resilience and social support increased, and the more job stress and burn out decreased; regarding marriage, the married had higher self-resilience and social support, and the unmarried had higher job stress and burnout; regarding education, selfresilience was significant in the order of graduation from graduate school, graduation from university, and graduation from college, and burnout in the order of graduation from college, graduation from university, and graduation from graduate school; regarding monthly incomes, those whose monthly incomes were between 3 million and 4 million wons showed a significant result in terms of self-resilience and burnout; regarding years of work, those who have 3-5 years of work showed an increase in burnout; regarding religion, those who have a religion showed a significant result in terms of self-resilience, social support, and burnout..

Conclusion : Given the study results, this study suggests that it will be necessary to survey the variables affecting burnout, hierarchical regression analysis was conducted. And socio- demographic factor, job stress, social support, and self-resilience were added in order, and it will be necessary to investigate the scale of relative influence.
